Lovebirds
Hamemu:
Hello,
We are wondering if anyone has any additional info on this Lovebird we have bred. We understand he/she is a chimera and he is pretty rare, and possibly sterile.
Any info or links to appropriate sources would be appreciated?
Regards
Graeme

just purchased a baby lovebird yesterday and completely fell in love with this bird. It was the runt of the group and the saleswoman at PetLand assured me that the bird was ready to be sold. I hand fed her last night and played with her for hours. She was immediately loving and trusting. I fed her this morning and she ate just fine. I came from lunch to check on her and took her out of her cage. At first she seemed just a little sleepy, but then I noticed that she could hardly stand and she kept falling...

Smaller parrots live around 10 to 15 years. Larger parrots such as the macaws and cockatoos live more than 75 years. These birds reach maturity in 1 to 4 years. Wild parrots live in the forest of tropical zones including South America, Australia, and New Guinea. A few live in Africa and mainland Asia. Parrots are hole nester's. They build their nests in holes in trees, termite mounts, rock cavities, or ground tunnels. A few exceptions will build stick nests.

My lovebird is a 5 month old albino and I have had her/him for approximately 3 months (The birds name is Rain). Last evening I found Rain entangled in string which was wrapped around the neck but I did not see blood and it appeared Rain had stopped struggling and I found her laying in her happy hut. I do not know how long Rain was entangled but I was only gone long enough to eat dinner, about an hour. When found, Rain appeared stressed and was missing feathers on the wings but that is not my primary...

Check out the great work from these photographers, it's not very often we get a chance to see these little parrots in the wild and their natural habitat, thought you might appreciate this.

Our two much loved lovebirds, Elmo and Blondie, died suddenly earlier this month. They were healthy and active in the morning. They were dead at 3PM in the afternoon. Elmo started to look sick about 15 minutes before he died. He pooped a light brown extremely watery poop and his eyes started to close and he fluffed up. We had them for eight years.
Afterwards, we had our house thoroughly checked for gas leaks and carbon monoxide. There was no trace of any problem. We were both home during the...

My love bird buddy 2 months old.
Sometimes sits there and makes chewing sounds but has nothing in its mouth. Almost like its chewing its tounge. Is that normal??
Also when he poops there is like a little green string looking thing in it is that normal?
I have nebver had a bird before so I just want to double check.
Do they get worms?
I thought birds poop was just white?

Hi guys,
I'm in some trouble with my sister's lovebird.
We've kept birds for some years now but we're not exactly knowledgeable. Lucifer is a peach faced lovebird, he's about 6 years old - we're not sure of the sex, we just default to calling him male - we've never seen any eggs.
For the past few years, Lucifer has not been a big eater. He used to be a real guts and would eat just about anything you gave him. His interest in food dissapeared when his food was changed to a brand recommended by a...
