It's still a challenge to get the harness on in the first place (he whines and flaps off every time) but definitely worth it once we get out. I think he really enjoys all the attention he gets.
At one point a group of about 6 people came and sat just a few feet behind us, and he hopped over and whistled at them with his sweet little "feeyew" call. (I guess that's his "contact call"? He usually does it when I pick him up, like "Hi Buddy!")
What do you do in the winter time when it's cooler? I worry I'm going to have to start from square one come spring. What's the coolest I can take him out? I think his vet said 68ish? Kimba would you agree?
He is such a little joy. I'm starting to dread the cooler months, I will feel so bad he won't be getting out so much.
lol the call you described Eve does also, it's kinda a huh?what?who's that? call. or that's at least how I interpret it. As far as cooler weather goes, it will depend on more than temp. Wind will be a factor as well as dampness. For instance if it is 68 damp and with a slight breeze I would say no. But if it is sunny and 68 most definitely. If you see Vinnie shaking while out, sort of vibrating his feathers he is cold. As far as next year goes, it might be weird for him the first few times again, but it shouldn't be that hard. You can always practice with the harness a few weeks before it warms up.
So, I was wondering, where does "vasa" come from? Is it latin for something or some guys name? I know velasa Raptor and vasa are similar, I wonder if theres a connection?
