Default Reverse Physical Mimicry

Had to share this with you.
Many days my wife stands in front of Pearl (our amazon) and stretches her hands over her head while saying "uuuuuuuuuuuuup'. She then says "dowwwwwwwwwwn" while bending over to touch her toes. Pearl looks slightly upward and says "raaaaaaaaa" and the looks down in time and says "rooooooooon"

Meanwhile, Lale (our cockatiel) has been watching this from behind my wife. Now by himself Lale will raise his head and wings straight up while saying his rendition of up, then fold his wings and looks at the floor saying down in his cockatielian dialect. He is so funny doing it over and over all around the top of his cage.

That's great! Actually the method that was "accidentally" used to teach Lale is the same method Dr. Irene Pepperberg uses to teach the famous Grey, Alex everything he knows. If you don't know about Alex google Dr. Irene Pepperberg. You will be amazed!
