Very cute!!! Thanks for sharing. However...Q-tips can be dangerious, birds ingest the cotton fuzz and it can cause blockages in their crops.

awesome pics thank you for sharing them with us.
I honestly give your birds somthing else to play with.
If they do digest the cotton you could loose one or both of your birds.

Thanx for that info I had never heard that before. I will no longer be giving them q-tips. I am so glad you all told me that before something bad happened. I am just curious though would they eat the cotton though. Birds chew on all kinds of stuff and never swallow it so that is what I am wondering or is it a just incase thing. Either way they no longer get q-tips they have plenty of other stuff to play with that is safe for them again thanx for the warning.

The fine fibers get accidentally ingested because they stick to things and are not as easily felt by the bird. These fibers collect in the crop over time creating a blockage. Where as wood and other things the bird has more control over. So it's not that they try to eat it, it just happens.

Oh ok that makes since. She only had the one q-tip and had a blast playing with it but not anymore. Again thanx for the info.
Oh if she has gotten any fibers in her crop will they pass through over time?

If she only had the one q tip I wouldn't worry about it, I doubt it would be enough to cause problems, so yes any fibers will pass.
