Thumbs down ringneck

Hi my 2 year old IRN Mojo at least thats how old they said he was when
we got him in May. someone was selling him on kijiji in our town He is sweet Gives kisses and knows step up, but does not like to be handled to much.
But my reason here is he does not talk, is he to old to start talking now.
It don t matter we still love him, and well keep him forever. But I would like to know is he to old to start talking?
Hope to hear from some one soon Thank you EVE

It's hard to say on the talking thing...I had an IRN that has never said a word, and one that won't shut-up...as for age making a difference...it just may.

Handling with IRN's is hit-or-miss. Most IRN's are not as social...and are not big on their private space being invaded. There are exceptions to this, but most I've seen...don't really like to be handled much (petting and so on). Things can get better if you handle Mojo every day.

As with any parrot age doesn't make a difference when it comes to talking.I once had a IRN that I named Kiwi though Kiwi didn't talk she/he did let me handle and touch him/her.Unfortunately Kiwi passed away over 10 years ago.

Think of a word or sentence you want him to say and every time you walk by say that word or sentence and just see what happens? Using repetition is the best way to get them to talk. You never know...He may just start one day?
