What is a parakeets favourite Food

I have just bought a 4 month old princess parakeet and Im trying to gain its trust. I have tried millet, apple, grapes,pears and although it doesn't shy away it doesn't touch them. Is there a food that all parakeets love that I could use to entice it.

I would try carrot tops and hang them from the top of the cage.

my princess love fresh grass seeds from our lawn I just don't mow the lawn as much lol
you could also try thistles as well

It probably isn't the best food for her, but Tweety's favorite food is Life Cereal. It is mainly a treat food though.

It always helps to eat the foods you are offering and showing your lil guy how much you like the food. Mmmmms and yummy yummys are added bonus features to entice him. As far as gaining trust, just sitting in the room talking to him will go further than trying to handle him a bunch while he settles in. Good luck!

I can see that you guys feed them a wide variety of foods which I did not know you could do. I thought you had to be on a strict diet, but apparently I was wrong.

My parakeet, friendly, loves millet. He will eat it whenever I offer it to him, which I think helps build up trust and help him associate good things with me. Good luck with your princess!!

Mine seems to like hard boiled eggs. It took a little time for them to start eating it. You have to try new things and don't give up too quickly.
