I have had Baby for over 14 years I brought her on Mother's Day over 14 years ago.Lately I have beeen having trouble with her bleeding in her stool.Well 1 week ago I took her to a different vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with her but they diagnosed her with Colitus.I wasn't happy with thier diagnoses because the disn't perform any tests. So the next day I took her to her vet who perfomed blood tests as well as a test for Giardia and still nothing.Well Monday she had a large amount of blood so I opted to take her to another vet where after 3 hours they found an enlarged spleen as well as an enlarged liver. They gave her new medication as well as new a new diet.We will see where this goes from here.
Please pray for Baby and me because we're not ready to let go.She's acting normal and doen't seem to be is any pain.
Everyone so far everything seems to be doing okay.Baby is taking her medication twice a day and instead of giving her just water a friend suggested giving her Aloe Detox. Here poops are normal looking like tootsie rolls and no blood. She appears to be lossing weigh.I just hope that's a good thing.
I took Baby to have an ultrasound on Friday. The Specialist deterimined that Baby DOES NOT have an enlarged spleen or liver. But may have what is called Cushings Disease and that her adrenal glands were different sizes. She goes next Monday for another test.Cushings Disease is treatable and is usually misunderstand and owners contribute it to old age and tend to Euthanise their pets.We plan on giving Baby the best life she has allowed us to have with her.
I'm glad to hear Baby's doing better and that she has such a good home.
Last year we changed the diet of our 16 year old cat who'd been losing a lot of weight, and he's doing much better and isn't as skinny now. He has a kidney disease, and that's why we switched his diet.
