Parrots make wonderful family pets because they are great companions, they are beautiful birds with colorful feathers and you can teach them to talk. Parrots are very enjoyable pets and are relatively easy to feed and maintain. If properly cared for, many species of parrots can live for around fifty years. This is more than twice as long as the life expectancy for dogs and cats, which are the most common household pet. Therefore, someone looking for a nearly lifelong companion find parrots to be an ideal choice.
Yes I agree with you parrots make good pets.I just wish more people were willing to commit to the lifelong commitment and go all the way. Most of what owns us were rehomed or rescued and a few purchased. But they have so much to give. Now they are here to stay.
Parrots can make excellent pets for some people. Remember they need more interaction and are very social animals and will suffer with lack of attention. Daily interaction is very important.

Absolutely and categorically NO. They don't make good pets. They live too long (a budgie can live up to 30 years and the larger species up to 80), they are too demanding (they are wired for constant 24/7/365 company) and their physiological needs are impossible for us to fulfill (temperature, humidity, diet, room to fly to keep the respiratory system healthy, reproducing, etc). They make us happy but we cannot really reciprocate in kind if we keep them as pets.
Everyone has a right to their own opinion. But what do you suggest
we do with all the birds in captivity free them so they can be caught and slaughtered?Damned if you do damned if you don't!
