I'm just curious how many talking parrots we all have and what they can say...
Puddin's repertoire at the moment is:
Hello Puddin (said every morning before she is uncovered), hello my girl/boy, who are you, what you doing, giz a kiss, good girl, bye bye, imitates a siren, laughs, blows kiss, almost mastered the great escape (better when she's nodding off to sleep), wolf whistle, telephone (not ours funnily enough).... plus lots of other really funny noises that she has picked up, lots of mumblings.
I love listening to her and some of the tones she picks up too, especially when I'm in the kitchen and she says hello and gradually gets louder and more impatient if I don't answer her back!
I have 3 macaws, 2 B&G's and 1 Greenwing, they all say hello, giz a kiss is their word they say all the time who are you, where u going, good boy, good girl, they all say their own names, no, stop it, they whistle and a few other weird noises.
Hello!
I have a Grey (Mel) who I've already bragged enough about here.
Mel says everything and says new things every day.
The funny thing you said, though, that has made me respond was the comment..."and gradually gets louder and more impatient if I don't answer her back!"
I think this is hi-larious...Mel does this too! Only Mel will ask, "Right?" "Right?" "RIGHT?!" until it almost drives me crazy!
I know it's "controversial" in scientific circles, but you can't tell me these guys don't know what they're saying...
I totally agree... Puddin will say 'giz a kiss', blow a kiss, and then say 'good girl'.
Another one of her most favourite things to say (which I completely forgot about) is 'C'mon... she says this all the time especially when we try to get her to go into her cage shen we are eating.
My Scarlett is only 7 months old so she is still learning... but she already say peek-a-boo ,play peek-a-boo, hi , hello , hi Scarlett ,la la la.. good good girl, whatcha doin? ..and now she is trying to do a high pitched tweet like our little love bird ... I am sure I will be in for a lot more as she gets older but yes if i do not answer her back she gets louder also
Bobbie Q. is developing her vocabulary very quickly. My wife and I speak Spanish, so we're teaching Bobbie the same blended vocabulary we use. Her favorite things to say this week (it changes) are "besos" (kisses), "que pasa" (what's up), "how ya doin", and "look what I got".
Despite her name "Bobbie Q. Chiquin" being one of the things we've worked hardest on, when she says it she sounds like Kenny from South Park on Comedy Central.
Pongo "AGC" is 6mos old so no words yet. But he does do many different noises. He does his sexy whistle, Imatates the squeky cupboard door,Does the pigeon noises. Which our 13 year old daughter taught him. He whistles with the birds out side. He does the high pitch squeel. Which is very loud like earpiercing loud..lol. I am teaching him to whistle the Adams family theme song. Which he is slowly learning. And he does this noise where it sounds like he is laughing. plus many other different tone whistles.
What is the average age when an african grey starts talking?
My Blue Front Amazon has quite the vocabulary now.
His first full sentence was: I love you, I love you sooo much, you are such a good boy.
He also says:
Hello
Come here
Good Boy
Step up
No
Come on
No Bite
Shianee (Our dogs name, she passed away)
Go lay down
Huh?
What?
Ow?
Wanna go to Bed!
Good Morning!
Night!
There may be more, I just can't remember them all right now!

My Jado was just 6 months old when he started talking. His first words were "Peek-a-boo." He is now 7 1/2 yrs old and has a vocabulary of over 200 words and phrases. He has several types of laugh that just cracks me up. He uses a feminine voice for most words and a masculine voice for some.
He calls the mail man ,'Dumb-ass,' or 'Stupid' and when I ask him about democrats he says "Aw shit!" I just love him!
