Default Green Cheek pulling other bird GCC's feathers

i have 2 Green Cheeks, we believe one is a male and one is a female but we dont know who is what. anyways we noticed they pull out each other's long red feathers. and whenever i see them doing that to each other i say "no" and separate them. is this normal or is it not?

birdy who is the nicer one still has his nice and long but the other one is trying to pull them out. at first i thought baby was just cleaning them but i just saw him trying to pull them out. can someone give me any advice?

As far as I know, GCC cannot be visually sexed because they are not dimorphic (male looks different than the female) so you will need to have them DNA'd to find out their gender.

As to pulling each other's tail feathers, that is a very common thing birds do to other birds they don't want near. Mothers do it to babies when they want them to leave the nest and all birds do it to other birds as a way of throwing them out of where they are (like a person would push another out of the way).... for example, my Jardine would be perching on a cage and the two mini macaws would fly over and pull her tail so she flies away and leaves the spot for them so it seems to me that you have two birds who don't really like each other very much.

The bodies of the adult birds were emerald green, with bright blue reflections. The heads were yellow, excepting the forehead and cheeks, which were scarlet. The Definitive Guide to GCC covers the ways to use the GCC Compiler.
