Cockatiels in two's

I'm leaning toward getting a cockatiel but wonder if I should get two instead of one. I know this may sound silly but I don't want my bird to be lonely. Would I be better off getting them both at the same time rather than introducing another at a later date?

Will budgies and cockatiels play together?they seem to get along o.k. on the play gym, but my tiel will give her the beak(not really biting though). The budgie doesn't seem to be too bothered by this. Cockatiel Relocation Station is a state certified organization dedicated ,after they have grown out of their ‘terrible twos’.
