Default Cats & Waking Us Up

Does anyone here have tips for getting cats to stop waking you up too early?

I've heard of lots of cats who do this, but I don't know of any effective ways of dealing with this.

Nice try, David! You're right about the meowing and scratching.

Actually I used to get up and hold one of the cat's paws under water tap. He'd then go off and lick it and forget about me for a while.

My solution: never own cats.

Just kidding.

My damn dog does the same thing, and you can only ignore her whining for so long. Then when you drag your butt out of bed to let her out, she just stares at you through the screen door, instead of peeing.

I usually just close my bedroom door at night if I want to keep the cats out. Or sometimes I just put them outside for the night. They love to be outside, but it's been so cold lately, I hate to put them out. So usually I just shut them out of my bedroom so they don't wake me up until I'm ready to get up.

I also have to shut the cats out at night. It's the only way but they never fully get over it... and they hold a grudge.

Lol Yea right never gonna happen. Unless you change your sleeping habits and learn to sleep through them waking you up then I don't know what to tell you.
