Default Fresh Vegetable Medley - What must be cooked?

Okay sorry this isn't a recipe per se, but a food question.

I just got back from the farmers market with:

- A variety of peppers
- String Beans
- Yellow Zucchini
- Carrots
- Corn on the Cob
- Broccoli

I'd love to serve up some freshly rinsed and chopped veggies, but don't know if any of these HAVE to be cooked? And if so, steamed or roasted? It's hot and humid and I'd just as soon not have to turn on my stove if I don't have to

And if I prepare a large batch tonight, any idea how long it will stay nutritional refrigerated and/or frozen?

Thanks!

P.S. A little off topic, but Sasha is a slave to canteloupe pulp. Anyone know if I have to comb out all of the seeds (it's so tedious) ? She might eat around them but I'm not positive, she could also just slurp up the whole mess. Thanks again!

I give my birds just about the same mix of Vegetable,s.
I rinse the veggies a under the tap then I chop them up for the birds but I dont cook them at all.

I dont feed canteloupe seeds myself but I do know people who do feed them to there birds.

I hope this helps

The only veggies that need to be cooked or par cooked are sweet potato, potato, and any kind of bean, (by bean I mean legume not string beans, wax beans and such). Sasha? Your cat loves cantaloupe pulp? Odd kitty! Sorry I don't have the answer for that one.

Thanks for the tips guys! I work with a woman who has a blue front amazon, was surprised to learn I cook for Vinnie, not just share my meals with him. This will make life a little easier.

Yes, Sasha LOVES canteloupe as much as, if not more than turkey. She can be hiding anywhere and refuse to come out, but mention the "C Word" and she's right at your feet. She likes the whole fruit but especially the pulp. I learned this by turning my back on a bowl once, and have been giving it to her as a treat ever since. Now that she sees Vinnie getting a variety of food throughout the day, she assumes they're all treats and must have more of her own. I've mentioned this to other people; it seems a lot of cats love canteloupe!

Our cat likes cantaloupe, too. Then again, he also likes watermelon and radishes!

Remember, anytime you cook vegetables and fruit, you are loosing vitamins and minerals. I do realize that some must be cooked though.
Most of your vitamins and minerals are in the peeling. But now days the peelings have pestisides and herbisides added to them. Best to grow your own though.
Anyone ever thought of juicing? Tiki loves fresh juice. His favorite is grape, he also loves my smoothies in the morning. Fresh juiced apple juice, into a blender with frozen, over ripe bananas, to the consistancy you prefer.
