Eclectus Parrots Training

My wife and I want a bird baby. We think a red sided eclectus would be the one.We have no children only a small dog.What do yall think? It will be daddys bird but it needs to like my wife also. Any help would great.

I was wondering since I read another Thread about 'potty' traning birds may cause them not to defecate except when given the command if that was a common problem with Eclectus'? I'm thinking a little ahead of myself since I haven't picked up my new baby yet, but I don't want to do something ('potty' training) that will cause problems.

Has any one used harrisons pellets on there eckys .A lot of people say not to use pellets as they are to high in vitamins .Harrisons are 100%organic certified.
